As part of our efforts to end the criminalization of poverty, we are advocating for the elimination of debt-based driver’s license suspensions. We strongly believe S. 998 would be impactful in reducing the use of such practices. As the committee is meeting for markup, we write to encourage a clean passage of this bill.Earlier this year, CEO Action for Racial Equity (CEOARE) sent you a copy of a letter addressed to Senators Durbin and Grassley to express our support for S. 998, the Driving for Opportunity Act of 2021.
